How Does it Work?
Blockware is a managed solution, aimed at achieving supervision and remote configuration of companies' perimeter security. To fulfill this goal, “The Block” smart remote sensors are used, which have superior functionality compared to other market standard firewalls. These remote sensors act as firewall, IDS, and VPN gateway, reporting attacks and repulsions automatically to Openware's SOC (Security Operations Center), for them to be processed and displayed online to our clients' IT crew. It is a strategic service, since it gives second tier support with direct access to human resources with expertise and also time to manage the always shifting internet security issues. This product allows companies to protect their networks and their internal data from internet risks, without hiring experienced staff and at a very low cost.
To render these managed services, Openware has "The Block", a physical device that acts as a remote sensor and a remotely operated supervision/monitoring platform. The remote sensor, located at the client's facilities, works as an alarm repository, identifying attacks and registering company security states. It can auto-report failure alarms and is equipped with a double control and security mechanism that renders it immune to over 90% of the problems that internet security devices normally experience
The remote monitoring and supervision platform processes and analyzes the data submitted by this sensor, which is classified by Openware's expert staff, who analyze the attack type and origin and determine the sough-after targets. Final conclusions and intruder data are immediately made available to clients through our web portal.
The remote supervision and management platform automatically performs an integrated vulnerability assessment and reports on the internet servers' security state. Once the assessment is finished, the client is notified and has secure access to the Web Portal, where their remote sensors' state is published, along with security policies, last received attacks, statistical graphs about attacks, attackers, attacked servers and actual and historical vulnerability assessment. They will also have quick and easy access to the open ports and different risks to which they are exposed, sorted by threat level, and complementary information accompanied by exhaustive assessment. Clients can even get information about attack types worldwide, current threat levels, strategic information and confidential news.
This tool will allow the client to analyze the need for upgrades and/or modifications to their company servers.
Blockware is not only efficient but also convenient, since the online request and query follow-up system allows clients to have a close control over their requests, current account state and solution schedule. To respond to the need for forensic analysis in order to track an attack or intrusion, Openware keeps up to three months of online information for each remote sensor.
From an additional module, an automatic notification can be sent to the internet service provider where the attacker resides. The objective is to warn ISPs about their client's hacking activities, so they can take corrective and/or punitive action.
Our managed security services can also assess client's internal network servers and even manage VPNs, both mobile and Lan to Lan, on company's request.
